Last night Ja Morant suffered an ankle injury that shook the sports world. As a fan of Ja's game, we hope he heals up and comes back soon.
With that being said, the x-rays on Ja's ankle shows no fracture and he was back on the sidelines in the 4th quarter rockin' a boot and shooting the shit with his teammates.
The first thing that popped into my brain as a kid from Boston was this:
Back in 2008 when I thought I saw Paul Pierce take his final shot in the NBA and possibly last time he could walk. Look at the pain in this mans face - there's no way any human being could come back from this:
Next thing I knew, out came the wheelchair and that was it for Pretty Paul. Hell of a run.
This next picture was Paul Pierce heading into the game...
Ok, I know they are two completely different situations but the price drops I have been seeing in Ja Morant rookie cards over the last 12 hours are a prime example of the card market over reacting. Here are Ja's base raw prices four days ago:
Ja's prizm base cards held their value pretty well after the injury, but mosaic and optic's were selling for all time lows.
Last night on ebay the Ja Morant 2019 Mosaic Base raw sold for $10. His Optic base raw had multiple sales between $39 - $45.
If you can find similar prices before his injury update comes out within the next 24-48 hours, I would be buying up all of his mosaic and optic rookie cards.
